Neoclarityn 5mg Tablets, also known by the drug name desloratadine, work as a non-drowsy antihistamine, providing relief from allergy symptoms like runny nose, itchy eyes, and sneezing. Neoclarityn tablets offer quick, efficient, and long-lasting relief from the signs and symptoms of both seasonal and enduring allergies. You can enjoy your day free from the burden of allergies thanks to the once-daily dose for 24-hour relief.
Neoclarityn contains desloratadine, which is an antihistamine. It is an antiallergy medicine that does not make you drowsy and helps control your allergic reaction and its symptoms. Neoclarityn relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis — inflammation of the nasal passages caused by an allergy such as hay fever or allergy to dust mites — in adults and adolescents. It is also used to relieve the itching and hives associated with urticaria (hives caused by an allergic reaction). As a prescription-only medicine, a consultation with a clinician is required before it can be issued.
The recommended dose is one tablet once a day with water, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole. For adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, the dose is 5 mg once a day. The dose in children depends on their age — for children aged 1 to 5 years the dose is 1.25 mg once a day, and for children aged 6 to 11 years the dose is 2.5 mg once a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose and always take Neoclarityn exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
One of the key advantages of Neoclarityn over older antihistamines is that it is specifically formulated to be non-drowsy. Neoclarityn is an antiallergy medicine that does not make you drowsy. However, as there is individual variation in response to all medications, patients are advised not to engage in activities which require mental alertness until they have established their own response to the medication.
Most people tolerate Neoclarityn very well and experience no side effects at all. The most commonly reported ones are tiredness, a dry mouth, and headaches — and even these are relatively rare. In very rare cases, some people have had a serious allergic reaction, with symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling, or hives. If this happens, stop taking the tablet immediately and seek urgent medical attention.
It depends on your allergy. If your symptoms only flare up occasionally — for example, during hay fever season — you may only need to take it for a short period while your symptoms are present. If your allergy is more persistent and affects you most days, your doctor may recommend taking it on an ongoing basis.
Neoclarityn doesn't interact with alcohol in the same way that older, sedating antihistamines do. However, some people have reported feeling the effects of alcohol more strongly while taking it, so it's sensible to be cautious. If you do drink alcohol while taking Neoclarityn, do so in moderation and be mindful of how you feel.
As a precaution, Neoclarityn is generally not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, even though there is no strong evidence that it causes harm. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or currently breastfeeding, please speak to your doctor before taking Neoclarityn so they can advise on the safest option for you and your baby.
