Otigo ear spray is a local treatment containing lidocaine hydrochloride and phenazone, used to relieve the pain and inflammation of a middle ear infection (acute otitis media) while the eardrum is still intact. It is sprayed directly into the ear canal, where lidocaine numbs the area and phenazone helps reduce inflammation, easing earache and discomfort. Otigo treats the symptoms rather than the infection itself, so it can be used alongside any treatment your prescriber recommends while your body recovers. It usually starts to ease pain within minutes and can be applied a few times a day as directed. A short, free online consultation lets a UK pharmacist check that Otigo is suitable for you before it is supplied by our pharmacy and delivered discreetly across the UK.

Use Otigo ear spray exactly as directed. For adults and children aged 2 and over, the usual dose is one to two sprays into the affected ear up to three times a day, or as advised by your pharmacist or prescriber. Tilt the head so the affected ear faces up, insert the nozzle gently at the entrance of the ear canal and press to release the spray, then keep the head tilted for a few moments. Do not push the nozzle deep into the ear. Only use Otigo if your eardrum is intact — do not use it if the eardrum is perforated or if there is any discharge from the ear. Do not use it for more than a few days unless a pharmacist or prescriber advises you to. If earache is severe, keeps coming back, or comes with a high fever, hearing loss, dizziness or discharge, contact your prescriber or GP.

Do not use Otigo if you have a perforated eardrum or any discharge from the ear, or if you are allergic to lidocaine, phenazone or any of the other ingredients. It is not suitable for children under 2 unless advised by a healthcare professional. Tell the pharmacist if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or buying it for a child so they can confirm it is suitable.
