Ultravana Period Pain Relief Tablets contain naproxen 250mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain, reduces inflammation and lowers fever. Each tablet has a gastro-resistant coating, meaning it passes through the stomach intact and is only released once it reaches the small intestine, rather than being absorbed in the stomach itself. Ultravana is licensed for women aged 15 to 50 who experience primary dysmenorrhoea (period pain that isn't caused by an underlying condition). On the first day of treatment, two tablets (500mg) are taken initially, followed by a further tablet (250mg) after 6–8 hours if needed; on the second and third days, one tablet is taken every 6–8 hours as required, up to a maximum of three tablets in any 24-hour period. Treatment should not continue for more than three days in any menstrual cycle. Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, with or after food, and should not be broken or crushed, as this would affect the gastro-resistant coating. Each dose can provide pain relief for up to 12 hours.

Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) from the propionic acid group. It works by blocking cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing the body's production of prostaglandins — chemical messengers responsible for the womb contractions, inflammation and pain signalling that cause period pain. By lowering prostaglandin levels, naproxen eases cramping and inflammation, and also helps reduce any associated fever. Each Ultravana tablet has a gastro-resistant coating, so rather than being absorbed in the stomach, it passes through intact and is released once it reaches the small intestine. A single dose can provide pain relief for up to 12 hours.
Ultravana Period Pain Relief Tablets contain naproxen, an NSAID used to relieve the pain, inflammation and fever associated with primary period pain (dysmenorrhoea) in women aged 15 to 50.
On day one, take two tablets (500mg) initially, then one tablet (250mg) after 6–8 hours if needed. On days two and three, take one tablet every 6–8 hours as required. Don't take more than three tablets in 24 hours, or use Ultravana for more than three days in any menstrual cycle. Swallow tablets whole with water, with or after food.
Each dose of Ultravana can provide pain relief for up to 12 hours.
The gastro-resistant coating stops the tablet from being absorbed in the stomach. Instead, it passes through intact and is released once it reaches the small intestine, which can help reduce stomach irritation.
