Ibuprofen 600mg Tablets

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, usually shortened to NSAID. It works by reducing the production of the chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling and fever.

600mg is the prescription-only strength. It is licensed for the symptomatic treatment of pain and inflammation in arthritic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, and for painful swelling and inflammation after a soft tissue injury. For everyday aches and pains a lower strength is usually the right choice, and our 400mg tablets are a pharmacy medicine.

Because this is the higher strength, it is only supplied once a UK prescriber has reviewed your consultation. NSAIDs carry a risk of bleeding in the stomach and gut, and at higher doses a small increased risk of heart and circulation problems, so the aim is always the lowest dose that controls your symptoms for the shortest time you need it.
