Spedra is a prescription‑only medicine. Your online consultation with Access Doctor will help determine if Spedra is right for you.
Do not take Spedra if you take any nitrate medicine for chest pain, or if you use "poppers". The combination can be fatal.
Do not take more than one tablet in 24 hours.
The recommended starting dose is 100 mg, taken 15‑30 minutes before sex.
If you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours, seek emergency medical help immediately.
If you experience sudden vision or hearing loss, stop taking Spedra and seek medical help.
If you are taking alpha‑blockers for prostate problems or high blood pressure, tell your doctor – you may need a lower starting dose of 50 mg.

Spedra is a prescription medicine that contains the active substance avanafil. It belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors – the same family as the more familiar sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis). If you want to buy Spedra online for the first time, you should start with an online consultation to ensure it is right for you. Spedra is a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) in adult men – sometimes called impotence, which is when you cannot get, or keep, a hard, erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Spedra works by helping the blood vessels in your penis to relax, increasing blood flow and helping you stay hard when you get sexually excited. It is important to note that Spedra does not cure your condition. It is also not for women and will not help you if you do not have ED.
Spedra works by temporarily blocking the PDE5 enzyme in the penis. When you are sexually aroused, your body produces a chemical called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes the smooth muscle in the penis and allows blood to flow in to produce an erection. The PDE5 enzyme normally breaks down cGMP, turning the erection off. By blocking this breakdown, Spedra enhances the effect of cGMP on erectile function. A very important point: Spedra only works if you are sexually stimulated – you still need to be aroused (for example, through foreplay). It is not an aphrodisiac, and it will not produce an erection on its own.
Take Spedra exactly as your doctor has told you. The key points are: When to take it: Take a Spedra tablet approximately 15 to 30 minutes before sexual activity. Some men find it works for them in as little as 15 minutes, particularly if taken on an empty stomach. How to take it: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. With or without food: You can take Spedra with or without food. However, if you take it with a heavy meal, it may take longer to work. How often can you take it?: You should take no more than one tablet in any 24‑hour period. Taking more than one will not make it work better and will increase your risk of side effects.
Spedra comes in three strengths: 50 mg, 100 mg and 200 mg. If you are considering Spedra 200mg as a dose option, it is typically reserved for men who have already tried 100mg and found it insufficient, but who tolerate the medicine well. Recommended starting dose: The recommended starting dose is 100 mg. Adjusting the dose: Based on how well it works for you and how well you tolerate it, your doctor may increase the dose to 200 mg (if the 100 mg dose is not effective enough) or decrease it to 50 mg (if you experience side effects from the 100 mg dose). Use the lowest effective dose: You should always use the lowest dose that provides benefit. Never change your dose on your own. Always speak to a doctor or pharmacist first.
The effects of Spedra typically last for up to 6 hours. What if you take it and it doesn't work? There are several possible reasons: You were not sufficiently sexually aroused. Remember, you still need to be turned on. Spedra is not an aphrodisiac and will not create an erection on its own. You took it on a very full stomach. A heavy, fatty meal can delay absorption. You have an underlying medical problem that Spedra cannot overcome, such as very low testosterone levels or nerve damage from diabetes or surgery. You are taking other medicines that interfere with Spedra. Some medicines (such as certain antibiotics or antifungals) can reduce how well it works. If you have taken Spedra exactly as directed on several occasions and you still cannot get or keep an erection, speak to your doctor. They may suggest a different ED treatment.
The Spedra price varies depending on the strength you choose and how many tablets you buy. For four 50mg tablets, the price is around £18; for four 100mg tablets, the price is around £20–£22; and for four 200mg tablets, the price is around £29–£33. Buying larger packs (for example, 8 or 16 tablets) usually works out cheaper per tablet. If you already have a private prescription, you can use it to order Spedra online from many UK pharmacies, which often offer competitive pricing. When you buy Spedra online through a service that includes a consultation, the price you see typically covers both the consultation fee and the medication, so there are no hidden extras.
Most people tolerate Spedra well, but like all medicines, it can cause side effects. Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): Headache Flushing (redness and warmth of your face and neck) Nasal congestion (a stuffy or runny nose) Uncommon side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): Dizziness Feeling sleepy or very tired Sinus congestion or back pain Serious side effects – you need to be aware of these: Priapism: A painful erection that will not go away. If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, you must seek emergency medical attention immediately. If it is not treated, priapism can cause permanent damage to your penis (including not being able to get erections in the future). Sudden vision loss: If you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes, stop taking Spedra and seek medical help urgently. Sudden hearing loss: If you experience a sudden decrease or loss of hearing (you may also feel dizzy or have ringing in your ears), stop taking Spedra and seek medical help.
There are several absolute contraindications. Do NOT take Spedra if any of the following apply to you: You take any medicine called a nitrate. Nitrates are prescribed for chest pain (angina). Common nitrate medicines include glyceryl trinitrate (GTN) , isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, and amyl nitrite ("poppers"). Combining Spedra with a nitrate can cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly and dangerously, leading to fainting, heart attack, or even death. You take certain medicines for HIV/AIDS, such as ritonavir, indinavir, saquinavir, nelfinavir or atazanavir. You take certain medicines for fungal infections, such as ketoconazole, itraconazole or voriconazole, or certain antibiotics for bacterial infections, such as clarithromycin or telithromycin. You have a serious cardiac problem. If you have been advised by a doctor to avoid sexual activity because of a heart problem, you should not take Spedra. You have had a stroke or heart attack in the last 6 months. You have low blood pressure or high blood pressure not controlled by medicines. You are allergic to avanafil or any of the other ingredients in the medicine.
Spedra is a prescription‑only medicine – you cannot buy it without a prescription. To get a prescription, you must first have an online or face‑to‑face consultation with a doctor or pharmacist to check that it is safe for you. Once the consultation is approved and the doctor issues your prescription, you can buy Spedra online from a registered UK pharmacy. The consultation is typically free, and the prescription is included in the price you pay for the medication.
In many parts of the UK, Spedra is not routinely commissioned on the NHS for erectile dysfunction. The first‑line choices for NHS prescribing are typically generic versions of sildenafil or tadalafil, which are more cost‑effective. This is why most men who want Spedra choose to buy Spedra online through a private prescription service – it is often the only practical way to access this particular medicine.
If you buy Spedra online and complete the consultation before the daily cut‑off time (usually mid‑afternoon), your order will be dispatched the same day. Most UK pharmacies offer Spedra next day delivery as a standard service, with orders arriving by Royal Mail Tracked 24 or a similar courier service. Delivery is often free, and the packaging is discreet so that no one else knows what is inside. Once you have successfully placed your Spedra order, you will receive tracking information so you can follow your delivery all the way to your door.
